School Observations and Assessments
The Benefits of School Observations and Assessments:
Some of the many benefits associated with classroom observations include:
Enhanced student outcomes, through observed behaviours or needs being targeted post observation.
Identifying strengths and weaknesses, as well as taking active steps towards improving upon them.
Enhancing teacher and parent knowledge of effective support strategies and ideal approach.
The Process of School Observations and Assessments:
Classroom observation is a process by which a therapist sits in on one or more classroom or community sessions, records the teaching practices and student actions, and then meets with the teacher and parents to discuss the observations. The main purpose behind the classroom observation is to allow teachers and parents to get feedback from an objective, experienced observer and to involve in context-specific discussions about teaching, behaviours and so forth. The therapist will provide observation notes or a full assessment to families and teachers with support strategies and suggestions to be implemented.

“Behaviour Matters has also connected with my daughter's school to communicate about how to provide the best support, and has provided us with 1 on 1 counselling. We love the services Behaviour Matters offers, and will continue to sign our daughter up because we can really see the benefits.”
